VISION Statement:
We will develop Samish Island Community of Christ Campgrounds to provide a safe and natural campground resort environment where church members of all ages and guests can enhance their relationship with God, the church, their families and friends through a wide variety of activities and with a variety of spaces available.
MISSION Statement:
The development committee will revise the current Master Plan to reflect improvements that have been made, address current needs identified by the body and support the vision for the grounds.
- Acknowledge and meet the diverse needs of our membership
- Prioritize the needs of the Community of Christ membership
- Gather data/information about changes being considered
- Meet the needs that will improve the accommodations for the greater number of people using the grounds
- Pay for development as we go - stewardship of debt
- Consider the need for self sustaining costs with maintaining facilities
- Ask the body to prioritize our recommendations
- Create opportunities for fellowship and sharing
- Work to maintain a spiritual/worship orientation for the grounds
- Utilize multipurpose development
- Maintain integrity of large community ownership and responsibility
A 25 year Master Plan for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of our Campgrounds was approved in 2003. Here are some highlights.

What’s happening now and how can you help?
…A comprehensive plan, including many studies, reports and designs, has been approved by the county. We are currently raising $1.4 Million towards Phase 1. We are almost halfway there - $599,660 has been raised through March, 2007. We need your help! You may have been contacted by a congregational representative about pledging funds. Your pledge helps us plan better and move faster. Or, give weekly or monthly by marking your tithing envelope “Samish Development Fund”. Consider prayerfully supporting our campgrounds.
